Cynthia P. Ham (right) Cultural Hangups, Inc was established in 1999 when one of the co-founders, Cynthia P. Ham, was unable to locate any wall borders or coordinated accessories that celebrated her heritage, her child, her alma mater, her sorority or her lifestyle. Cynthia was so excited when she moved into her new home but soon discovered that the wall borders and coordinated accessories she had in mind for decorating simply did not exist. After discovering that other consumers shared her plight, Cynthia formed Cultural Hangups with business partners John F. Ham and Steven V. Jones. According to Cynthia, "in filling this void, we wanted to make sure our designs represented all minorities...from African-Americans to Hispanics to Asian-Americans (who collectively represent the fastest growing segment of our society and will account for 50% of the total U.S. population by 2050). The time is now for wall borders and coordinated accessories that celebrate you...and Cultural Hangups is your source!"
